C++ is about as close as you can get to an industry standard in the game industry, so if you want to break into the industry it's a more useful skill to have over C. There exist plenty of libraries for C to get going, from very raw graphics programming with the Vulkan API to more "robust" kits like SDL or raylib. The simple answer is yes, C can be used for game development. Is it currently possible to do only with the C language, or should I switch to C++? I am repelled by C++ due to the fact that its study is literally an endless process and a lot of time is spent on studying the details of the language itself and not on programming. I don't understand how you can own both well. Is it possible to become a good game developer without learning C++?
